Hot Summer Day

Today was the first really hot day of summer. The house was blazing so Pete and kids went outside to run around in the sprinklers for a bit. It started off so well.

But then Carmen decided to run head-first into one of the sprinker heads:

The sad conclusion. "Daddy, Daddy"...she got over it pretty quick and then it was back to playing.

Father's Day in Portland

We went to Portland, OR for the weekend over Father's Day. We like to get out of town occasionally, hang out in a different city, go swimming, and have room service. What a treat!

On Sunday we went to the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, OR. They have lots of planes but they're most famous for the Spruce Goose. It was a lot of fun to see all of the different aircraft. Here's Nate working the controls of a helicopter.

Carmen also gets in to the act.

Finally, our warped family photo - reflection from a chrome nose cone.
