North Pole Party

The kids & I are members of a network of Children's museums including Imagine Children's Museum in nearby Everett. We try to make it there at least once a month if not more often. Today we stopped by for the North Pole Party, featuring reindeer, live performances, candy making, an appearance by Santa, and a whole lot more.

Imagine has a "Giving Tree" set up this year to help children in need get basic necessities such as hats, socks, and mittens. This week: "Underwear".

Now normally giving away a package of underwear would not be a big deal, but for Carmen this is not the case. She's potty-training, you see...so underwear are a treat, especially Disney Princess underwear. She didn't take it well.

Nate was happy to hang some sweet Spiderman skivies on the tree.

Carm got over it pretty quickly. We moved outside to work on the gingerbread house.

Back inside we moved on to the Gravity Room. Some kids had made an igloo out of foam blocks and Nate asked if he could climb inside. Unfortunately for them, they agreed.

I knew what was going to happen, but I also had my camera, so I resisted the impulse to caution him.

Sure Nate, kicking the bottom block out shouldn't be a problem...Note the kid on the right is running away now.

I love how he has the "I didn't see that coming" look on his face. Yeah right!

All was well though...igloos can be rebuilt easily.

Final note: Nate in his Christmas outfit this year. We're doing pictures next Tuesday and I hope to blog a few. Ain't he handsome?!?
