Go Nate, Go!

Nate played his first official soccer game today. After several years of watching Dad and playing in the back yard with Mom Nate went out on his own. It was absolute madness on the field; packs of roving 3 and 4 year old boys and girls chasing the ball on a tiny field surrounded by shouting parents. I had to remind Nate a few times to keep his hands off the other kids - he was bear-hug tackling them when they got in his way.

Scoring a goal was a very proud moment for him. He ran all the way across the field to us, arms extended, with both thumbs pointing toward the sky. The smile on his face was priceless.

Nate's first day of preschool!

Nate settling in with his sister at his side...

Nate decided it would be a nice idea to bring Ms. Kursta an apple for the first day of class. Don't let the picture fool you, mom wasn't quick enough with the camera so this is a do-over, but still super cute!

Nate with Dad this morning...

And with mom...

What a big boy! And what a super backpack! It had a pee-chee, a spiral notebook, pencils and crayons in it.

It's a proud moment for us all, especially Nate. People say that the kids grow up so fast and they are right. He has the basics down now...it's time to build memories without Mom and Dad. We are so very proud of our son.

Fun at Lake Tye

Have you ever seen a cuter face poking out at you from playground equipment?

Fishing is fun!

Look at who got big beds!

Nate earned his big boy bed! We spent weeks and weeks talking about how important it was to stay in bed and how big boys went right to sleep in their big boy beds. Nate did a wonderful job transitioning and is finding that it's awesome to have more bed to jump on. Thanks to Grandpa Geroge who helped us pick out and then set-up the new bed!

Since Nate was done with his toddler bed, it was time for Sissy to get rid of her crib and venture into her big girl bed. It's been a little more slow going with this one. Since she can get up when she pleases, she has decided that 7:00 AM is her waking time...not so much for mom, though.
After a few rough nights, she decided it was easiest to just go to sleep and stop crying...thank goodness!

Fishing with Grandpa

My dad came out for a visit the middle of August and Nate was so excited to learn how to cast his new fishing pole. We had talked about it for months before Grandpa George even got here. I'm not sure who it was a prouder moment for, Nate learning or Grandpa teaching.
