Nate's big day
Wednesday was a huge day for Mr. Nate and I just thought I'd share with all of you. So far Nate has been allowed to ride his bike alone outside in the backyard, but Wednesday he asked if he could ride in the street because "There's so much more room!". We went over the ground rules...you know, move off to the side if a car comes, mom will watch from the window, have a good time, etc. It was a magical moment for me to look out of the window and watch him cruising up and down the street, occasionally throwing in a wheelie or two for good measure. At first he kept looking up into the window to make sure I was there, but after awhile he totally forgot and just had a good time by himself (which is also a big step because at 4 he ALWAYS needs an audience). Dare I say I got a little misty? He also drew his very first "person" picture...complete with legs, arms, eyes and a smiley face. Wow, again more tears. Preschool has been wonderful for Nate, Mrs. Kursta and Mrs. Laila are wonderful, caring teachers. Here is a picture of "Mommy" by Nate, Age 4.
